Advance Discount Function offers three billing plans designed to match your store’s discount complexity. The Starter plan includes a 7-day free trial so you can evaluate the app before committing.

Plan Details

Starter — $39/mo

The Starter plan is designed for merchants who need condition-based and promotional discounts beyond what Shopify’s native discount features offer. It includes:

• Conditional Discount function — Create if-then discount rules with the full set of 18 conditions and AND/OR logic.

• Buy X Get Y function — Create BOGO promotions and promotional gift offers (e.g., buy 2 get 1 free).

• All 3 discount classes — Apply discounts to products, orders, or shipping.

• Up to 10 rule groups — Sufficient for stores running a handful of concurrent promotions.

• Automatic and code-based discounts — Both activation methods are supported.

• AI-powered discount explanations (credit-based) — Use the AI to explain your discount configurations in plain language (1 credit per request).

The Starter plan covers the majority of discount scenarios: conditional percentage discounts, free shipping over a threshold, customer-targeted discounts, and buy-one-get-one promotions.

Pro — $99/mo

The Pro plan adds volume-based discount patterns and checkout customization. It includes everything in Starter, plus:

• Tiered Discount function — Escalate discounts based on quantity or spending thresholds (e.g., buy 3+ get 10% off, buy 6+ get 20% off).
• Delivery customization (up to 10 rules) — Hide, rename, or reorder delivery options at checkout based on cart, customer, product, and address conditions.
• Up to 20 rule groups per discount — Suitable for stores with a large catalog of active promotions.
• Rejection rules — Block discount codes when specific conditions are met (e.g., reject codes for non-VIP customers).
• AI discount generation (credit-based) — Use the AI Assistant to generate, update, and refine discount configurations. Includes a 25-credit welcome bonus with additional packs available for purchase.
• Version history — Track changes to your discount configurations over time. Review and restore previous versions.

The Pro plan is the right choice for merchants migrating from Shopify Scripts that included tiered pricing logic, or stores that need to control delivery options at checkout.

Enterprise — $299/mo

The Enterprise plan unlocks the full feature set. It includes everything in Pro, plus:

• Bundle Discount function — Validate that specific product combinations are present in the cart before applying a discount (e.g., buy a cleanser + toner + moisturizer for 20% off).
• Payment customization (unlimited rules) — Hide, rename, reorder payment methods, set payment terms (Net 30, etc.), or require order review at checkout based on conditions.
• Delivery customization (unlimited rules) — No cap on the number of delivery customization rules (upgraded from Pro’s 10-rule limit).
• AI-powered discount generation (credit-based) — 50-credit welcome bonus, plus Enterprise Annual plans receive 200 credits/month. Access to Expert mode in addition to Standard mode. Additional credit packs available for purchase.
• Up to 25 rule groups per discount — The highest rule group capacity, supporting complex multi-rule configurations per discount.
• Priority support — Direct access to the support team for configuration guidance and troubleshooting.

The Enterprise plan is designed for high-volume stores with complex promotional strategies, checkout customization needs, and teams that benefit from AI-assisted configuration.

Annual Plans

All plans are available on an annual billing cycle with a 15% discount compared to monthly billing.

AI Credit System

AI discount generation uses a credit-based billing model. Pro and Enterprise plans receive a one-time welcome bonus of credits, and Enterprise Annual plans receive a monthly allocation. Additional credit packs can be purchased at any time.

Purchased credits do not expire and carry over between billing cycles. Monthly included credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.

Rate Limits

To purchase additional credits, go to Settings → Billing → AI Credits in the app.

Annual plans are billed as a single charge at the start of each billing year. The monthly equivalent is shown for comparison only — you are charged the annual total upfront, not monthly.

To switch to annual billing, go to Settings → Billing in the app and select your preferred billing cycle. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

Shopify Platform Limit: 25 Automatic Discounts

Shopify enforces a maximum of 25 automatic discount functions per store (across all installed apps). Code-based discounts are not subject to this limit. This is a platform-level constraint, not specific to our app.

Rule groups multiply effective capacity. Each automatic discount can contain multiple rule groups (up to 10/20/25 depending on plan tier), each with its own conditions, targets, and discount values. A single automatic discount with multiple rule groups effectively replaces what would otherwise require multiple separate discounts.

Code-based discounts are unlimited and also support the same rule group limits per discount, further expanding capacity.

Free Trial

The Starter plan includes a 7-day free trial. During the trial:

• You have full access to all features included in the Starter plan.
• No charges are applied until the trial ends.
• You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time during the trial.
• If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.

The trial period begins when you install the app and select the Starter plan.

Downgrade Behavior

If you downgrade to a lower plan, the following behavior applies:

Existing Discounts Continue Running

Any discounts you created on a higher plan continue to function at checkout. Shopify Functions are deployed as WebAssembly modules, and the function itself does not check your billing tier at runtime. This means your customers will not experience any disruption.

UI Blocks Editing

While existing discounts keep running, the rule builder UI will block you from editing features that are not included in your current plan:

• You cannot create new Tiered, BXGY, or Bundle discounts on the Starter plan.
• You cannot edit existing Tiered or BXGY discounts on the Starter plan (but they continue to function).
• You cannot create or edit Bundle discounts on the Pro plan.
• Rule group limits are enforced when creating new rule groups, but existing rule groups beyond the limit are not deleted.

Practical Implications

• Downgrading is safe. Your live discounts will not break.
• Editing requires the right plan. If you need to modify a discount that uses a higher-tier function, you must upgrade first.
• Consider your needs before downgrading. If you have active Tiered or BXGY discounts, downgrading to Starter means you lose the ability to update those promotions without re-upgrading.

Billing FAQ

How does billing work with Shopify?

Advance Discount Function uses Shopify’s built-in billing system. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice alongside your Shopify subscription and other app charges. You do not need to provide separate payment information.

Can I change plans at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from the app settings in Shopify Admin. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Uninstalling the app removes the discount functions from your store. Any discounts using Advance Discount Function will stop working immediately. Your configuration data is retained for 30 days in case you reinstall.

Can I switch to annual billing?

Yes. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from Settings → Billing in the app. Switching to annual takes effect at the start of your next billing period — you will not be charged twice for the current period. Annual plans save 15% compared to monthly billing.

Is there a per-transaction fee?

No. All plans are flat-rate monthly (or annual) subscriptions. There are no per-transaction fees or hidden costs. AI generation uses a credit-based system — Pro and Enterprise plans receive a one-time welcome bonus of credits, Enterprise Annual receives a monthly allocation, and additional packs can be purchased separately.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. Advance Discount Function works with all Shopify plans that support Shopify Functions. This includes Basic Shopify, Shopify, Advanced Shopify, and Shopify Plus.

How does AI generation billing work?

The AI Assistant is available on Pro and Enterprise plans using a credit-based system:

• Pro — Welcome bonus of 25 credits (one-time). No monthly credit grant. Standard mode at 2 credits per request.
• Enterprise — Welcome bonus of 50 credits (one-time). No monthly grant on monthly plans; 200 credits/month on Enterprise Annual. Standard mode at 2 credits per request, plus Expert mode at 5 credits per request.
• Additional credits — Purchase credit packs ($20 for 50, $40 for 110, $60 for 180) from Settings → Billing → AI Credits. Purchased credits never expire.

A “generation” is any request sent to the AI Assistant (Generate, Update, Refine, or Expert mode). Rate limits: 20 requests/hour (Pro), 40 requests/hour (Enterprise).

Can I get a refund?

Billing is handled through Shopify’s billing system. Contact Shopify support or reach out to our support team for refund requests. Charges within the current billing cycle may be eligible for prorated refunds.
